What is Yung Joc’s radio show and what is he known for?

Yung Joc, whose real name is Jasiel Robinson is a host on Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5 morning show, titled Morning Takeover. He hosts the show with Mo Quick and Shawty Shawty.

According to the AJC, the show came about when the radio station had to put together a local morning show after they lost the syndicated The Breakfast Club to a new competitor, 96.7 The Beat. The radio station brought in the rapper, who had no prior experience on the radio, along with Quick. They then added comedian Shawty Shawty.

Of course, Joc is known for his music ahead of being a radio and television personality. He has released two albums, and his songs include two hits singles, “I Know You See It” and “It’s Goin’ Down.” The latter song was nominated for a Grammy and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. He’s been featured on hit songs like Danity Kane’s “Show Stopper” and T-Pain’s Hot 100 No. 1 single, “Buy U A Drink.”

The station says the show has been successful thus far. “We are pleased with the success, growth, and acceptance of the show in the Atlanta market – everywhere we go people are talking about the morning show! Clients and listeners all love Yung Joc,” said station owner Steve Hegwood.

The AJC’s report states that the show had solid Nielsen ratings in the key demo, “ahead of Rickey Smiley on Hot 107.9 and the Morning Culture at V-103,” and only behind Steve Harvey’s radio show set at Majic 107.5/97.5.
