Gentry is an up-and-coming actor in the entertainment sector. He had acted as Trevor in the short film Speechless before he was cast as Alex in My Life With the Walter Boys.

My Life with the Walter Boys is a Netflix original teen drama television series that premiered on December 7, 2023. The coming-of-age drama is based on Ali Novak’s 2014 novel of the same name, which was initially released on Wattpad.
The show follows Jackie Howard (played by Nikki Rodriguez), who moves to rural Colorado after being adopted by the Walters, a family of seven kids. Her mother, father, and older sister Lucy were killed in an accident in Manhattan.
So, Howard settles into a new small town and has to negotiate a difficult relationship with two of the Walter boys — former football star and resident bad boy Cole (Noah LaLonde) and sweet, sincere, and bookish nerd Alex (Gentry), who she can’t seem to stay away from.
Among the siblings, Alex is the most reserved, with his nose usually buried in a fantasy novel. What draws Howard to him is that he’s also trustworthy and kind.
But when love sentiments are involved, things get complex between them. The fact that Howard is also liked by Cole, Alex’s older brother, is not helpful. As a result, a passionate love triangle follows My Life With The Walter Boys.
Talking about Gentry as Alex, Melanie Halsall, the creator of the Netflix show, mentioned that she knew Gentry was the perfect Alex when she saw his audition.
