His hips don’t lie.
Adam Sandler revealed that he underwent hip replacement surgery after wrapping the Netflix comedy “Murder Mystery 2.”
“My goddamn hip, I had to change that at the end of the movie,” Sandler, 56, said during an interview with Variety on Tuesday at the movie premiere in Los Angeles.
He explained that he “had been doing so many movies in a row,” including the upcoming film “Spaceman,” in which he was put into a hanging harness for scenes.
That’s when he noticed his hip hitch.
“I kept saying, ‘Something’s going on with my hip, man. I’m in trouble,'” he recalled.
“And then during this and this other movie I did, I was like, ‘Yeah, I definitely gotta X-ray that thing,’ and we were in trouble.”
The Post has reached out to Sandler’s representatives for comment.
The “Grown Ups” star admitted that health-related problems are scarier at his age.
“You never know what the hell you’re gonna get up from,” he said. “I’m sluggy, man. My body hurts.”
He also praised his co-star and close friend, Jennifer Aniston, for being in such great shape while they filmed the flick, the sequel to the original 2019 comedy.
Sandler’s hip surgery occurred near Labor Day 2022, according to “Entertainment Tonight,” and he was seen walking around his neighborhood with a cane at the time.
In December, he told Page Six that the surgery made him feel “old.”
“It’s only painful to say out loud,” Sandler joked at the 2022 Gotham Awards. “I say it was because of basketball so that feels a little bit rugged, but then being unable to tie my own shoe didn’t feel rugged.”
While appearing on his dear friend Drew Barrymore’s talk show this week alongside Aniston, he and Barrymore spoke more about aging and his fluctuating weight over the years.
Barrymore pointed out that his signature basketball shorts style had become popular among kids these days.
“All I see right now in those pictures is a lot of different weights.” he said, about which the host agreed, revealing that the two always talk about their bodies together.
“‘How ya doin’ today?’ … ‘Fat,'” Barrymore joked. “‘How ya doin’ today?’ … ‘Skinny.’ ‘How ya doin’ today?’ … ‘Mid.'”
Aniston and Sandler appeared on the show to speak more about “Murder Mystery 2,” which is set to premiere on Friday, March 31.
In the new film, Sandler plays private investigator Nick Spitz, who is married to a woman named Audrey, played by Aniston.
The movie chronicles the husband and wife pair as they try to get their investigation firm off the ground, but end up finding themselves in the middle of an international abduction when their friend is abducted at their own wedding.
Sandler was awarded the 2023 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on March 19, with numerous big names in attendance, including Barrymore, Aniston, Chris Rock, Conan O’Brien, Judd Apatow, Ben Stiller, Steve Buscemi, Luis Guzmán, Dana Carvey, Rob Schneider and David Spade.
